Have you tried a snail? They can sometimes withstand the onslaught of betas and come in cool colours. They work great at keeping algae down. Just make sure you don’t get a snail carrying eggs…lots of them can be cool to watch grow up but can overrun a tank. Some come even black and white striped tho. 😉 hope it’s going well!
